Played my A-game, no re-buys, 1 double-up with a premium hand + the add-on for a total of $6,30 and 5,5K chips at the break. No rush when it restarted (you can always pick off a couple of jerks after the break as they are still in "re-buy" mode). Anyway, 11K chips and just been reseated to a new table with approx. 90 players left.
I'm sure I lost since it was a new table and I had no notes/reads on the other players. Anyway, sometimes I really hate QQ, lol.
Ouch! Talk about right move, wrong result!

You got your chips in on the flop as an 80/20 favorite, the same odds as getting all-in pre-flop with AA versus an underpair. The reason you lost the hand has to do with probabilities and nothing else. (Poker would be pretty boring and the fish would never come back if the best hand always held up.) So mark your scorecard with an A+, pat yourself on the back and hope to see this player at your table often.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I've bored you before with this Johnny Moss anecdote. Moss is complaining to his wife, who knows nothing about poker, about a string of bad beats he's suffered. So she says, "Why don't you just bad beat them back?" Upon which he glares at her and exclaims, "Because I don't put my chips in with the worst hand!"

Good stuff Benko! I forgot to mention that my nemesis took pot after pot after pot after pot. When they got down to FT, he had over 300K chips, nr 2 had approx. 100K, and the rest were way below 70K. He finally crashed out in 7th. place after shuving AK and losing to AQ, haha.
