Review my game

Just for fun, kind of. Here is the whole hand history for my first ever attempt at a $6.50 6-max sng. Tell me how to beat these things Benkogambit!

  1. BTW, what's the new strategy with the x99 raises u started with?

  2. I don't really know actually - lol! I've seen a number of supernovas doing it and thought I would give it a try. I do like see the towering stack of chips when I raise though :)

By the way, you can fastforward through the replayer with the "Next" button. The games starts getting interesting around hand number 150 I think.

  3. I'm delighted to have disembarked the Norwegian Spirit and to be on board at Roland's Room. Nice Hand Replayer, Roland! Sadly your first foray into the $6.60/6 max was further proof that you can't win 'em all. Can't really fault your play. The players at your table were better than they usually are. My main comment is that, based upon my vast (lol!) experience with this format, a laggy style does well. So I would try widening my range pre-flop both when first to open and when calling in the blinds, especially when relatively deep stacked at the first two and maybe three levels. So hands like A9o (Klokkhammer!) (and maybe even T6s) in the HJ seat or Kxs on the button are good enough for an opening raise, 85o, 86o for a limp in the SB, and JTs good enough to call a minraise in the SB. Also, when you flopped an OE with 76o OOP, I would probably bet the turn as a semi-bluff and either try to take it down or build a pot in case you hit the river (which you did) because 7 high probably isn't going to win a show down anyway. But those are nitpicks. With some better cards and flops and more typical opponents, I'm sure you'll do fine.

  4. Thanks benkogambit! I'll open up my range a bit next time. But 106s, I think I'm still letting that one go in most situations lol!

One question to you though: Are you playing regular speed or turbo with the 6max games? From my point of view, this factor will to a large extent dictate how active and aggressive I play at the lower levels. The more time I have, the more patient I can afford to be.

  5. I'm playing the 6-max at regular speed but because it starts out short handed already but with "deep" stacks, laggy play (with wider swings in your chip stack) seems to be more profitable than waiting around for good hole cards.

  6. Interesting. Perhaps you will post a game and let us see how the magician does the trick :)
