Roland 3/45 Game 2

Here is my other 3/45 from last night. HH29 is weak, but I had no read on the chipleader and didn't want to risk my stack. Bad play on my part nonetheless. And the final hand. AJ is ahead of many players' ranges and is the lowest hand that I'm willing to get all in with in such a situation. What would your line be?

  1. Why didn't I have a read on the chipleader in 29? Because it was after midnight, I was mulitabling 3 games, and we had just changed tables putting the big stack in a new position. I wasn't paying attention.

  2. HH29, yes - this is very playable. Multitabling I only now do when "awake", lol!
Last hand, I'm probably AI pf on this, hoping for a loose call by the chipleader in BB. U'll get the call anyway by the JJ man, but I like to get my chips in here. U still have time before antes and at least 5 minutes to the 200/400 level, but by then u'll have less than 2K chips when the blinds hit u next.

  3. My stack was a bit awkward in the last hand. Raising pretty much commits me to the hand, but all in is a bit much with my M. As you say though, if I'm pot committed with my raise then, all in directly is better. Good point.

  4. Indeed, a stack around 3,5K offers so much more options. The 2K+ stack at this stage in the tourny is very difficult when blinds are about to get very high within 5-7 minutes.

  5. Dang, someone else from the John Duthie school of pocket jacks! lol With an M of 8 in the HJ seat, all-in with AJ strikes me as too aggro with the big stack in the BB but it's too good a hand to fold. Plus you're not really pot committed having put in "only" 25% of your stack, as long as your table image is solid and you respect the reraiser. If that's the case, then I'm folding to the reraise leaving me with a still respectable M of 6 and a chance to invest my chips in a more favorable situation.
