Final hand 3+R 180 turbo

A bit of a donkish move by me, first hand at FT, and I completely forgot to look at stack sizes (just wanted to make my mark, lol!).

Always a time for learning from mistakes!

  1. Hmm, interesting hand actually. Let's look at the facts.
    1. This is a turbo
    3. You have an M of 3.5, but will be blinded out if you fold.
    5. Pushbot charts show this as being ev+ for an M of 8.5 or lower in your position.

Furthermore, utg is the new "btn". If you want to fold your way a place or two higher fine. Sit out the rest of the game.

If you are playing to win, then shoving here is correct 100% of the time. Bad luck that the one guy who can afford to call you woke up with a real hand. Classic right move, wrong result MrSmith!

  2. Tx Roland, I appreciate your analysis, it helps boost my confidence when I'm unsure.

  3. Completely agree. I'd shove with jacks too. :)

  4. On a good day I'm shoving atc rather than blinding out. Although, I think the clue to being profitable in these is to have shoved before getting so low in the first place. Especially on the short handed table before making the ft :)
