Not quite sure what I have done wrong lately, maybe variance - but I also suspect I have been too tight at mid-levels + a bit donkish late. Anyways, this one worked out fine.
Anyways guys! Very quiet here last 2 weeks, did u quit playing?
HH 1 & 3 are suspect. HH 6 is quite deliberate, I had good notes on Benjy! HH 10 Keep the pressure on by C-betting HH 19 I sat tight and due to good reads felt river betting was fine as the board paired. HH 33 I'd like some suggestions on bet sizes here in order to maybe increase the pot size. HH 39 I was 100% sure that both the HBL's would fold. Good notes taken during play at earlier levels. HH 40 As a consequence of HH 39, I felt Mountain was gonna test me if I raised/limped here. HH 49 Resisted the temptation! HH 51 High blinds and getting shortstack. BB will hit me next. HH 52 Knew he was on A-rag. Nice river got paid off. HH 57 Pot odds, almost got there. HH 64 is the turning point. Especially since Mountain called. Knew it would be a coin flip and hoped they both held A's, well - they both held Q's and I hit my set on the flop. HH 67 is fine. Wonder why he called, but worked out nicely. HH 74 testing marchris, managed to get away from it. Marginal, thought about folding pf.
I haven't played much lately, still bummed out after losing another heads up confrontation with MrSmith. :) And busy with other things, like Roland. Both children, one at home, the other at boarding school, appear to have had H1N1. At least now they don't have to have the vaccine, which in any event is nowhere to be found! Went to the dentist -- turns out he has a patient who goes out to the WSOP ever year. The dentist and his 7-year-old son play NLHE online at the play money tables. He, like MrSmith, also recommended Omaha. Someday I'd like to give it a whirl -- so much to do, so little time!
When I have played, it's been the $13 6-max. At some point, I'll focus on building a bankroll for the APPT next year. Not sure whether to keep working on moving up the 6-max ladder or to go back to 9-player SNGs. Watched Krantz's DVD set on short-handed NLHE and am in the middle of Bobbofitos' which seems very good.
HH33 The raise to 600 pre-flop is perfect. Betting 600 on the flop, feigning weakness, is okay but checking and giving him a chance to bluff or to catch a pair on the turn was preferable given your stack size. Heads up you aren't too worried about a FD, especially with the ace of hearts in your hand. If he has a pocket pair, all the chips are going in the middle no matter what you do. But once you bet the flop, you're pot committed so he can't continue with the hand if he has nothing (which is evidently what he had).
Congrats MrSmith! I too have ended my losing streak...by not playing :)
ReplyDeleteActually, I've had little time to play lately. I'm glad to see you are posting though!
